Science fiction authors to be at Cosmosphere for book signing

A handful of science fiction authors will be traveling from The World Science Fiction Convention in Kansas City to the Cosmosphere today for a book signing and tour of the museum.

The book signing will begin at 1 p.m. at the Cosmosphere, 1100 N. Plum St., in Hutchinson.

The authors and their works are as follows:

  • Rosemary Claire Smith, author of "Diamond Jim and the Dinosaurs" in the April 2016 issue of Analog Science Fiction and Fact. Her guest editorial will also be in the November Analog.
  • C. Stuart Hardwick, a past winner of Writers of the Future, will be signing "Dreams of the Rocket Men," a tribute to the pioneers of rocketry, in Analog's current issue.
  • 2014 winners of Writers of the Future Daniel J. Davis, Steve Pantazis and Martin L. Shoemaker will also be at the Cosmosphere. Davis' latest story, "The God Emperor of Lassie Point," appears in the anthology "Alien Artifacts from Zombies Need Brains, LLC." Pantazis' "The Devil Walks into a Bar" is in the current issue of the online magazine Galaxy's Edge. Shoemaker's story "Today I Am Paul" from Clarkesworld magazine was nominated for a Nebula award and has appeared in Year's Best Science Fiction: Thirty-third Annual Edition, The Best Science Fiction of the Year – Volume One, The Year's Best Science Fiction and Fantasy, and eight international translations.
